About us

Independent broker reviews, built on verification

Broker Verdict exists because South African traders deserve broker reviews that actually check the FSCA register — not ones that repeat a broker’s own marketing.

Who we are

Broker Verdict is an independent research and review team focused exclusively on the South African forex and CFD market. We’re traders and researchers, not affiliates pretending to be journalists — though we do earn a commission when readers open accounts through our links, something we disclose plainly and explain in our affiliate disclosure.

The Broker Verdict Team has more than 20 years of combined trading experience. We are deliberately selective when evaluating forex and CFD brokers because our team has used and researched numerous trading platforms, brokers and financial services over the years.

We do not claim to have personally tested every broker on our list. What we do claim: every FSCA licence number published on this site has been sourced from either the client’s own affiliate programme disclosure, independently corroborated primary sources, or the broker’s own first-party material — and we say exactly which, for every broker, on every page. We point every reader to check the FSCA’s public register themselves before funding an account.

What makes us different

Regulation first

We verify FSCA status before anything else. If we can’t confirm a licence, we say so plainly — not in a footnote.

South Africa-specific

We cover the entity and licence that actually applies to South African clients — not the group’s headline regulator in the UK or Cyprus.

No stale numbers

We don’t publish spread figures, leverage caps or minimum deposits that go stale. We explain the structure and send you to verify the specifics yourself.

Our approach to conflicts of interest

We earn affiliate commissions from some of the brokers we review. This is how independent review sites like ours fund their research. We are upfront about it rather than hiding it in small print:

  • Every page that contains an affiliate link is labelled with rel="sponsored" in its markup.
  • The broker we currently recommend first (Exness) is the one we believe is the strongest option based on our research — not the one paying the highest commission.
  • Brokers we review negatively, or where we find regulatory gaps, are reported honestly even if we have an affiliate relationship with them.
  • We never publish a commissioned “review” or accept payment to change editorial conclusions.

For the full picture, see our affiliate disclosure and editorial policy.
